Between the 1920s and the early 1960s Clarice Cliff designed and produced many hundreds of shapes covered in many hundreds of her now World-famous patterns.
Some of the shapes she used had been in production at the AJ Wilkinson or Newport Pottery factories long before Clarice arrived and continued in production right through the 'Bizarre' years and beyond; some of the shapes were designed exclusively by Clarice herself in order to best display her startling Landscapes and Geometrics.
Much of the original factory archive information has been destroyed and only a limited number of documents remain today.
The most important of these remaining documents being the factory shape sheets used during Clarice's heyday of the early to mid 1930s.
Because of the vast number of different pots produced we have decided to simply reproduce some of these shape sheets here so you can view for yourselves the key shapes of this period. These sheets mainly cover the period between the mid-late 1920s to the mid to late 1930s. As they are direct copies of the factory sheets some are not of 100% clarity, but still fascinating all the same.
