THE CLASSIC CLARICE CLIFF CRUISE LINER VASE c 1931 by Doreen Mann
July 2017

There's many a pattern or shape that Clarice Cliff designed which stirs the most emotional responses from us collectors!  Very high on that list of 'oh so important pieces of pottery' is the desirability to own a Liner vase.  The first/original (looks like a liner without a CC pattern on it) Liner vase c. 1931 appeared in the Bonhams sale in 2001 and rocked our socks reaching a commission inclusive bid of £15,000.  Fast forward 16 years later and we discover from Andrew Muir's display stands at the NEC Birmingham this July that a second one has appeared from no-where!  Where has it been hiding, Andy?    Perhaps we can tempt Andy to tell us a little more about the history of this one..........?
